CURRENTLY AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Social Worker - Special Education Teacher (Intake Team)

Start Date: Immediately

Salary: Competitive

Qualifications: Certified Special Education Teacher or LMSW (Licensed Masters Social Worker) with NY State approval for Early Intervention work.

Requirements: Must be fluent in Spanish, positive attitude, computer proficient, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, ability to perform home visits in any area of NYC, great fit with Los Niños core values.

Position Type: Full-time, 35 hrs/wk (M-F)

Location: 535 8 th Ave.

Responsibilities: Perform developmental evaluations (teachers), parent assessments (social workers), parent informings, evaluation site representative at IFSP meetings, intake team member. Home visiting to all communities is part of this position.

Description: Be a key member of our dynamic intake team which assesses young children with speech delay, overall delay, and a variety of other developmental delays and disabilities including autism. Identify infants and toddlers with disabilities to ensure they receive early help. Work with families in the challenging process of learning about their child’s delays and helping them through the process of planning for services. Play a main role in assessing parent concerns, and their child’s needs as they go through the evaluation process to determine eligibility for services for their infant or toddler. Work with other experts in early childhood assessment to contribute to the first steps taken towards the families receiving help for their child. Approximately 2 days/week performing evaluations, 2 days evaluation team meetings/work, 1 day additional meetings, administrative work. Group program involvement optional.

Service Coordinator

Qualifications: Bachelors in psychology, sociology, social work, education or closely related major.

Requirements: Must be fluent in Spanish, Russian, or Chinese, positive attitude, computer proficient, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, type at least 30wpm, ability to perform home visits in any area of NYC, great fit with Los Niños core values.

Position Type: Full-time, 35 hrs/wk (M-F)

Location: 535 8 th Ave.

Responsibilities: Advocating for babies and toddlers with disabilities and their families, assist parents through evaluation process and obtaining and monitoring services, referrals to needed programs, parent interviews, meetings with all relevant agencies. Home visiting to all communities is part of this position.

Description: Learn about the variety of social service programs helping children and families while serving children with developmental disabilities. Develop advocacy skills to ensure children are receiving services for which they are eligible and to assist their growth and development. Help young children and their families early in life.

Home-Based Therapist

Qualifications: New York State License/Certificate in your discipline. Knowledge and experience in Early Intervention, willing to receive additional training.

Requirements: Must be willing and able to perform home/community based therapy in an area of your choosing in NYC or Westchester.  Must be willing and able to work closely with our services department in alignment with our mission – being of great service to others, willing to problem solve and motivated towards continual self-improvement.

Psychologist

Start Date

Responsibilities: Perform developmental and psychological evaluations, parent informings, quality assurance and trainings. Home visiting to all communities is required in this position.

Description: Develop a specialty as an early childhood psychologist, expert in the diagnosis and assessment of autism, pervasive developmental disorder, speech delay and other delays and disorders of early childhood. Be a key member of our dynamic evaluation team identifying infants and toddlers with disabilities to ensure they receive early help. Work with families in the challenging process of learning about their child’s delays and helping them through the process of planning for services. Approximately 2-3 days/week performing evaluations, 1-2 days evaluation team meetings/work, 1 day additional meetings, trainings, administrative work.

Office Assistant

Responsibilities: General office duties including support for different departments, data entry, faxing, filing, reception, chart review.

Description: Work with a great team who are working hard to serve young children with developmental disabilities and their families. Support staff work closely with service coordinators, social workers, special educators, psychologists in service to our clients.
